| Background | Mouse IgG2a Fc is the crystallizable fragment derived from the constant region of the mouse immunoglobulin gamma-2A heavy chain. It generally consists of the hinge region and the CH2 and CH3 domains and forms a disulfide-linked homodimer. The Fc region interacts with Fc gamma receptors expressed on immune cells and can recruit immune effector mechanisms, including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis, and complement activation through C1q binding. It also interacts with the neonatal Fc receptor, which contributes to IgG recycling and prolonged serum persistence. Mouse IgG2a Fc is commonly used as a fusion-protein tag to promote protein dimerization, improve stability and circulating half-life, facilitate purification using Protein A or Protein G, and evaluate Fc receptor-mediated biological activity. |
